Hunterdon Care Center Awarded for Quality

Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ is the recipient of the the prestigious 2016 Silver AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award.
 
The award is a progressive three-step process to encourage the continuous learning and development of integrated quality systems to achieve performance excellence. Each progressive step requires a more detailed and comprehensive demonstration of quality integration and performance. The criteria for each step are based on the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. 
  
The Silver Achievement in Quality award means that the home provided an extensive assessment of its systematic approaches, performance measures, and sustainable organizational and process results that are linked to key customer requirements, success factors, and addressing the challenges all homes face in the health care industry. 
  
"We all face challenges in the pursuit of quality improvement, and it is through identification of these challenges that homes can work towards successful resolutions," said Hunterdon Care Center RN Director of Nursing Sharon Slockbower. "When identifying opportunities for improvement, priorities can be set to develop Performance Improvement Plans (PIP). Executing a PIP is like putting a laser through a magnifying glass to hone in on an issue. Goals are developed that can be measured through benchmarks, and diverse teams are created to explore interventions. Interventions are brainstormed by all team members to address the identified root cause analysis. This process ensures buy-in of staff to achieve success." 

Hunterdon Care Center learned from mistakes and stayed flexible in its approaches until it achieved success. Now... on for the Gold.
