Dept. of Health Offers Online Opioid Guide

At least ten Pennsylvanians die every day from a drug overdose, with over 3,500 overdose deaths in Pennsylvania in 2015 alone. In a multi-pronged approach to end this epidemic, the Pennsylvania Department of Health offers the interactive, online guide Treating and Preventing Opioid Addiction.
The guide lists treatment options for those suffering from the disease of addiction and explains naloxone, who can get it, and how to properly use it. The guide also details the drug take-back box program, which aims to greatly reduce the amount of prescription drugs available for potential misuse and abuse. Take-back boxes are available in all 67 counties.
