Quality Insights to Share Initiatives at L. Clark Hansbarger Geriatric Lecture Series

Quality Insights' Quality Innovation Network is set to participate as an exhibitor at the upcoming L. Clark Hansbarger Geriatrics Lectures Series on February 22. 
Quality Insights will be providing outreach about its healthcare quality improvement work as part of the L. Clark Hansbarger Geriatric Lecture Series soonsored by West Virginia University Charleston Division and Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) Institute on February 22. 

The free event, which is open to the public, will address what individuals need to know when older adults are hospitalized. 

"As the CMS-funded Quality Innovation Network - Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) in West Virginia, we will be in attendance to share our many initiatives that benefit people with Medicare and how they correlate to the topics of this lecture," Carla VanWyck, Quality Insights' QIN State Program Director for West Virginia, said.  

Robert M. Palmer MD, MPH, Professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School and Clinical Director of The Glennan Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology in Hampton, VA, will talk about innovative care models for hospitalized patients including:
  • Patient centered compassionate care
  • Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) Units
  • Reducing functional disability while hospitalized
  • Improving transitions of care
  • The Interdisciplinary Team
