National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is April 28

4/4/2018
Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. This leads to dangerous and often tragic situations. To combat this public health and safety issue, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) created National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

Unused or expired prescription medications can lead to accidental poisoning, overdose and abuse. Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.

Americans are encouraged to clean out their medicine cabinets and turn in - safely and anonymously - prescription drugs on this year's Take Back Day, April 28, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
